Clear coat peeled in a weird pattern after a cheap respray
Last month I did a quick side job for a buddy in Columbus, a door panel that had a scuff. I used a generic clear coat from the local auto paint supply, not my usual stuff, and it looked fine for about a week. Then it started lifting in these perfect circles, like a coin pattern, all over the panel. Turns out the clear had a bad activator batch, and the supplier gave me a partial refund after I showed them the photos. Has anyone else seen that strange circular peeling, or was it just my luck with that brand?

Coin pattern means the clear was still off-gassing, humidity trapped it.
