Found out my stacked frames were getting ruined by my own backyard light

I've been shooting Orion from my driveway in Boise for 3 months and wondering why the noise never cleaned up, until my neighbor pointed out the porch light was casting a glow into my lens hood. Turns out a cardboard shield taped to the hood fixed 80% of it, has anyone else had their own house fighting their photos?
