PSA: My dumb question at the library actually helped someone else

I was trying to find a specific book (a super old sci-fi one) and I couldn't figure out the catalog system at all. I almost didn't ask the librarian for help because I felt silly (the screen looked so simple). But I did ask, and she showed me the trick, which was honestly not obvious. The cool part was, a guy standing nearby heard our whole conversation. He came over after and said he'd been stuck on the same thing for ten minutes. We both got our books because of one awkward question. It made me think, sometimes asking the simple thing helps more than just you.

Exactly! I see this at the grocery store all the time. Someone asks where the olives are, and like five other people who were just wandering the aisles hear it and follow the worker. @theascott has it right, the help just spreads out from one person being brave enough to ask.

Nice, when asking helps everyone.

Yeah, that "helps everyone" really does multiply the help.
