I used to answer every question I got with a guess, now I just say I don't know
A buddy called me out at a cookout in Tulsa last month after I made up an answer about how long to boil corn, and honestly saying "no clue, let's look it up" has made way more sense ever since, so how do you all handle it when someone asks you something you really don't know?
Man, this reminds me of how everyone just makes stuff up about cooking times, parking rules, or which road floods first. It's like we're all scared of looking dumb for two seconds, so we guess and hope nobody checks. Once you get used to saying "no clue" it kind of frees you up, because now you actually learn the real answer instead of passing on bad info to the next person. I've started doing the same thing at work and with my kids' homework and it's cut down on a lot of nonsense.
