That 3D scan of the Roman shipwreck near Corsica changed how I read old site maps

I was reading a paper about the Cap Corse wreck, the one they mapped with photogrammetry in 2021, and it hit me that the drawn plans we used in field school were basically guesses compared to what they got from the scan. The angles of the amphora scatter looked totally different, like the original cartographer misread the slope by a good 15 degrees. Makes me wonder how many other published site maps from the 80s and 90s have similar distortion baked in. Has anyone else cross-checked an old plan against newer 3D data and found big mismatches?
