Spent a whole morning trying to get a stump grinder to start before I saw the fuel line was unplugged
I was on a job in Springfield last week, and my Stump Boss just would not turn over. I checked the spark plug, the air filter, even the carburetor. After about two hours, my new helper, Jake, just pointed at the clear fuel line and said, 'Is that supposed to be connected to anything?' It was just dangling there, not even close to the port. I felt like a total rookie. What's the dumbest simple fix you've ever missed on a piece of gear?

Honestly, that kind of thing happens to everyone, so I wouldn't feel too bad about it. Tbh, sometimes you just get so stuck on the complicated ideas that the obvious stuff gets totally missed. My vote for dumbest fix was spending an hour on a lawn mower that wouldn't start because the blade control lever was just barely not engaged all the way. Ngl, it makes you want to kick your own butt.

Lmao been there. I once spent a whole afternoon trying to fix a leaky sink, only to realize I never fully turned the water supply back on after the last time. Felt like a total genius.
