Appreciation post: That cheap flagging tape trick for tree felling

I kept losing sight of my felling cuts when working in overgrown lots. Tried tying bright orange flagging tape to my hinge wood before making the back cut. It sounds dumb but it worked great. Now I can see exactly where my hinge is even in thick brush or low light. Costs maybe 3 bucks for a roll and saves me from cutting too deep. Has anyone else found a simple trick like this that changed how they work?
