Wait, a climber with 30 years in the canopy is questioning why you still use a tautline hitch? That's the knot that built this whole trade. Blake's hitch and the VT came later and they're great, but the tautline is what most of us learned on and it still works. Thirty years and he's never seen someone run a tautline as their go-to? That is honestly hard to believe.
