Oh boy, does this bring back a memory. A buddy of mine spent an entire Saturday chasing a phantom leak in his basement, pulling up floorboards and everything. Turns out his cat had been knocking over the water bowl by the back door, and the water was seeping in through a crack in the foundation. He never did figure out how to stop the cat from doing it.

Ha, I can relate. One time I spent an afternoon convinced my washing machine was leaking into the garage. Pulled it out, checked all the hoses, laid down towels. Turns out my kid had left a sippy cup of juice on a shelf and it tipped over. The mess was practically invisible unless you were on hands and knees. I still don't know how it managed to look like a major leak, but it did.
