That time a customer argued with me for 20 minutes about a washing machine door seal
I had this lady come into my shop last Tuesday with a top loader that was leaking all over her basement floor. She was dead set that the door seal was the problem, even though top loaders don't have door seals like front loaders do. I showed her the rubber gasket on the lid, told her it was fine, and pointed out the real issue was a cracked drain hose. She looked me straight in the eye and said no, she had read online that the seal was the only thing that causes leaks. I had to let her watch me pull the hose off and show her the split in the rubber before she finally believed me. It's wild how many people think all washing machines work the same way. Has anyone else had customers refuse to accept a simple diagnosis because of something they Googled?

Right, because obviously your Google search beats my actual eyeballs.

Twenty minutes? Christ, I would have lost my cool after five. The fact that she stared you down like you were the moron while you had the actual broken part in your hands is just... peak customer behavior right there. It's like Google gave everyone a PhD in appliance repair with zero hands-on experience.
