Picked up a used dryer from a house in Phoenix, learned a hard lesson about lint traps

The lady told me it was "barely used" but when I opened it up the lint trap housing was packed tight with burnt lint and fuzz. Has anyone else run into a hidden fire hazard like this that wasn't obvious from the outside?

Wait, did you check the vent hose too or just the trap?

Barely used" my eye. That's a house fire waiting to happen.

Bet on it. People say that about every used amp they see online but most of the time it's just dust and a little bit of melted plastic from someone leaving their phone charger on top. Honestly if it turns on and doesn't sound like a dying cat it's probably fine.
