Hit 1,000 compressor swaps and honestly, the number means less than I thought

I kept a log since 2019 and crossed 1,000 sealed system repairs last Tuesday on a GE fridge in Bakersfield. Everyone acts like hitting that mark makes you some kind of guru, but my 85th swap taught me more than the last 300 did. It's the weird failures, like a bad start relay that tested fine cold but died when warm, that actually build your instincts. Sure, the volume proves you can show up, but it doesn't measure how well you listen to the compressor before you cut the lines. Anyone else feel like milestones just track time, not skill? What number actually changed how you work?
