Took me 3 weeks to figure out why my landlord kept "losing" my maintenance requests
Turns out he only checks the online portal, and I was dropping paper notes in the office mailbox the whole time like a fool. Finally got my heat fixed after 19 days once I switched to the portal and started screenshotting every request with a timestamp. Anyone else have a landlord who acts like the 1990s never ended?

Man, I did the exact same thing at my last place but backwards. I kept using the online portal for two months while my landlord apparently only reads texts, so my requests just sat there in cyberspace doing nothing. Took my neighbor telling me "hey, just text him" before anything got fixed. The screenshot with a timestamp thing is smart though, wish I had thought of that back then. These landlords live in their own little world where whatever system is easiest for them is the only one that counts. Glad you finally got your heat back, 19 days in the cold sounds rough.
