Shoutout to the landlord at the open house on Maple who let me poke around the water heater
I went to an open house on Maple Street last Saturday and the landlord actually let me open the utility closet and check the water heater. I had been team "just trust the listing photos" for basically my entire search, until I saw the rust ring on the bottom of that tank and the date sticker from 2009. He said the last tenant never mentioned a leak, but there was a water stain on the drywall I would have missed from the doorway. So now I ask to see the breaker box and the water heater at every single showing, and two places since then have said no. That told me everything I needed to know about those two. Anyone else have a landlord shut down a basic walkthrough question, and did you walk or stay?
