Landlord tried to charge me for a carpet stain that was there before I moved in
Signed my lease in Austin last August, took photos of everything including a weird dark spot near the bathroom door. Sure enough, move out inspection last week and they point to that same spot, trying to keep my $400 deposit. Pulled out my phone, showed the timestamped photo from day one. Landlord went quiet, then said he'd 'review it.' Still waiting on my full refund. Has anyone else gotten burned by not having dated proof of existing damage?
