Dropped $250 on a rental locator service and got handed the same listings I already saw on Craigslist
Six months back I paid a company here in Phoenix $250 flat to "find me something off market" since I was sick of the same 12 units popping up everywhere. What I got was a spreadsheet with a bunch of places I had already toured on my own, plus two listings that were already off the market by the time they emailed them to me. When I asked for my money back they pointed at a clause that basically said they never promise anything is available. I get that good units move in a day, but paying somebody to copy paste Zillow links is a joke. Save the cash and just set alerts on every site and call within the hour, that is what actually got me my place. Did anybody else get burned by one of these locator services, or was I just the sucker in the room?
