Tried watching the new Demon Slayer season subbed vs dubbed and the difference was huge
I mean, I watched the first two episodes with the English dub like I usually do, but something felt off. Then I switched to the subbed version and the voice acting for Tanjiro just hit way harder, especially in the emotional scenes. Has anyone else had a show where the sub was clearly better than the dub?

My buddy Mike got the full box set of Death Note dubbed for his birthday last year. He made it through three episodes before he texted me saying L's voice sounded all wrong, like some bored guy at a coffee shop. He switched to the sub and said the Japanese actor's calm, weird delivery made the character click instantly.

Oh totally, I had that with Jujutsu Kaisen. The sub just has way more energy, the dub felt kinda flat in comparison lol.

It's funny how a voice can totally change a character, cora216. The original actors just put their whole heart into it sometimes, and that energy gets lost. You end up missing the soul of the show.
