Hit 200 anime logged on MAL last night
I never thought I'd get that deep into tracking shows. Started back in 2020 just to remember what I watched during lockdown. Then I got obsessed with the stats page seeing my average score creep up. 200 feels like a weird milestone because I still miss classics like Cowboy Bebop. Anybody else get caught up in the numbers game with their list?

Wait, you said you started in 2020 and already hit 200? That is wild to me. I been tracking my stuff since 2015 and I only just broke 150 last month. The stats page gets me too though, I keep checking my average score like it's something important. I spent a whole weekend once just adding all the shows I watched as a kid that I barely remembered. But 200 in four years seems crazy fast, you must watch like three shows at once or something.

alice991 that weekend of adding old shows you barely remember, that hits close to home. I did the same thing and it messed up my stats because I rated them way higher than I would now just for nostalgia. But here's the thing nobody talks about with hitting 200 in four years. It's not just watching three at once, it's that 2020 was a weird year for everyone. I burned through 25 minute episodes like they were nothing because there was nothing else to do. Plus short series like FLCL or 12 episode seasons stack up fast. The real trick is that I started watching a lot of seasonal stuff weekly, so by the end of a year you've got 40+ shows on your list without even trying. That padded my numbers way more than marathoning long runners.
