Am I the only one who thought subbed only was better until I watched Frieren dubbed at a friend's place
I swore for like 8 years that dubs ruined every show and I would not even give them a shot. Then my buddy in Austin put on the English Frieren while we ate pizza and by episode 4 I forgot I was even reading anything. The voice work for Stark hit way harder than I expected and now I have to admit I was just being stubborn. Anyone got other dubs that actually hold up against the sub, or did I just get lucky with this one?

Wait, you made it to episode FOUR before you noticed? That blows my mind because most people I know tap out on a dub within the first few minutes if it's bad. Frieren is one of the rare ones where the English cast actually puts in real work instead of just reading lines. Try Mob Psycho 100 or Cyberpunk Edgerunners next, those dubs go hard.
