My old cassette deck taught me to slow down my record cleaning

Back in 2010 I used to blast through vinyl cleaning with a spray bottle and microfiber cloth, took maybe 90 seconds per album. Last month I pulled out my dad's Discwasher brush from the 80s and tried the full ritual, one drop of fluid, light strokes with the grain, letting it air dry. Turns out the extra 10 minutes per record is when my brain actually switches off, kind of like how rewinding a tape forces you to wait. Anyone else find the prep work more calming than the actual listening, or am I just getting old?

Haha yeah my "quick" cleaning routine takes like an hour cause I keep getting distracted!
