Dropped my grandpa's Yashica on the kitchen tile and the film door popped open
So this happened last Friday around 7pm. I was carrying too much stuff at once (my fault, I know) and his old Yashica FX-3 slid right off the stack of mail and hit the tile floor. The film door flew open and I just stood there staring at it, half a roll of Portra 400 exposed. I have no clue if the door is bent or if the latch is just out of whack now. I sat on the floor for like ten minutes feeling awful since this camera was his. Then I grabbed a tiny flathead and started poking at the latch, and it actually clicks shut again, but now I am scared to load real film in case it pops open mid roll. Has anyone dealt with a bent film door latch on an old SLR? Do I try to bend it back myself or just find a repair shop in Portland?
