Stop blaming your scanner for light leaks that aren't there
I've seen three posts this week where people showed off their 'vintage light leak' scans, but zoom in and it's clearly dust on the neg or a cheap flatbed not sealing right. If you can't match the leak pattern to the sprocket holes or the film gate, you're just embracing bad technique. How long do you actually check your negatives before you blame the camera?

Got a buddy who spent a whole weekend crying about light leaks on his Canonet. Turned out the foam light seal was fine, he just kept opening the back in his kitchen under a bright fluorescent tube. Sometimes the problem is between the camera and the chair, not the gear itself.
