Why does nobody talk about pulling your film vs pushing it when the light is flat
Shot a roll of HP5 at the skatepark on Saturday and the sky came out like gray soup. I stood there with two choices: drop it at the lab as is and hope for the best, or push it one stop to 800 and get some contrast back. I went with the push and asked the guy at the counter for 9 minutes in ID-11 instead of the normal 6.5. Got the scans back Thursday and the concrete has actual texture now, the shadows aren't just black holes. Curious if anyone else pushes HP5 in flat light or if you just switch to a different stock.
