Heard a guy at the camera shop in Toledo say "metering is a crutch" and I can't stop thinking about it
I was picking up a roll of Portra 400 last Tuesday when this older guy behind the counter told a kid that using a light meter means you never learn to read light. I shot a whole roll of Tri-X at the park without checking my Sekonic once and got 14 shots that were either blown out or muddy. Do you trust your eyeballs or do you meter every frame?
