What if the Titanic movie had ended with Rose saving Jack herself?

I was rewatching Titanic with my sister last weekend and we got into it about the ending. She thinks Jack dying on the door is fine because it's tragic. But I kept thinking what if Rose was the one who dragged him onto that door and he survived too? Like she figures out to tie his jacket to the door or something. Would the movie lose its whole point about letting go? Has anyone else thought up a version where both make it?

Hang on, your sister's watched Titanic more than once and still thinks Jack dying is fine? That's cold, man. Look, I've been in a similar spot with a movie debate before. For me, it was Armageddon. I was convinced Bruce Willis's character should have found a way to ride that asteroid back to Earth with Liv Tyler. But my buddy kept saying the sacrifice was the whole point of the movie. Honestly, after talking it out, I kind of got it. If Rose just pulled Jack onto the door, the whole "never let go" thing falls apart, and the movie becomes a cheesy survival story instead of a tragedy about memory and moving on.
