Old house retrofit, wires are all tangled and no labels. What's your method?

That reminds me of when our school tried to upgrade the computer lab. Wires were a total nightmare, and they had to redo everything twice! The IT guy just shook his head and said it was easier to start from scratch.

Honestly, my buddy color-coded all the wires with tape.

Color-coding wires with tape? My friend did that in his garage. He spent hours on it and then realized he used the same color twice for different things. Total waste of an afternoon.
