Hot take: I used to hate running wire through finished walls.
For years I would cut huge holes and patch them later, which always took extra time. Then a guy I worked with in Austin showed me his trick with a flexible drill bit and a borescope. Now I can get a wire across a room with just two small holes. What's your go-to method for tricky wire runs?

My old boss in Tampa swore by using the cold air return ducts. He'd run low voltage stuff through them all the time. Not to code for power obviously, but for speaker wire or cat6 it was a straight shot across the house. Saved us a ton of fishing time in those 70s ranch styles. Just had to use plenum rated cable.

That's a fire hazard waiting to happen. Plenum cable or not, you shouldn't run anything through air ducts.
