PSA: stop priming the fuel system before you check the filter housing
I was helping a new guy on a King Air 200 last Tuesday and he hit the aux pump before he even cracked the filter bowl. He pushed about 2 quarts of Jet A onto the hangar floor and we had to pull the whole panel to mop it up. Priming first just pressurizes the line and hides the leak you're trying to find, so always check the housing dry first. Anyone else seen a guy do this or is it just our hangar?
