Overheard a Delta line mechanic say something that stuck with me

Was getting coffee at ATL last Tuesday and heard a guy say he never trusts torque wrenches that got dropped. Said he saw a 1/4 inch drive snap a bolt on a 737 flap track because of internal damage you can't see. How do you guys handle tool drops on the line - send them out immediately or keep using them if they look okay?

That's one of those things that just sticks with you.

39 times I've moved in the last 10 years and honestly I don't remember half the stuff people say "sticks with you." @sams25 I think you're giving too much credit to memory here. Brains are terrible at storing facts, they just make up stories that feel true. Most of the time when people say something stuck with them, they're actually remembering a feeling they had at that moment, not the actual thing. Research shows memories get rewritten every time you recall them, so that thing you think is stuck is probably different now than it was yesterday. People love to act like certain stuff has some deep meaning but usually it's just random noise that got attached to an emotion.
