Ran my design tool on a $300 used laptop from 2015, here's what happened
Never expected a 9-year-old ThinkPad to beat my 2022 desktop at batch processing 1,400 photos, has anyone else found older hardware tearing through modern AI tasks unexpectedly?

Old hardware sneaking up on you like that is wild. My 2013 iMac with a busted fan still crushes image stacking that makes my newer gaming laptop slow to a crawl. The trick seems to be that some older machines just had way better memory bandwidth or simpler drivers that don't add overhead. I've also noticed my old rig handles certain batch tasks without thermal throttling because the software doesn't max out all cores. Modern stuff is so tied to background bloatware and cloud syncs that it forgets to just do the job. Your mileage may vary, but I'm convinced we threw out some perfectly good workhorses way too soon.
