Overheard a dev at the coffee shop say their new AI model cut training time from 2 weeks to 3 days. Got me thinking about how fast this stuff moves.

Remember switching to a new framework last year that halved our build times. The speed gains felt unreal at first, but you get used to the new normal fast. It's like the tech just won't stop running.

Saw a blog post about how our brains adjust to faster tech and then just expect it. The writer called it "productivity creep" where each speed boost just resets the baseline. Makes you wonder if we're actually getting more done or just running in place faster. Kind of a trip when you stop and think about it.

@wyatt_sullivan40 nailed it with that framework example. I had the same thing happen with my home internet upgrade. Went from 50mbps to gigabit and for like a week I was like "wow this is insane" and then suddenly I'm getting annoyed if a video takes more than 2 seconds to buffer lmao. It's like your brain just forgets the old normal and sets the bar higher. The whole "productivity creep" idea makes so much sense because you start expecting every little thing to be instant and when it's not it feels like a huge delay.
