The mall's dead food court taught me more about acoustics than any forum thread did

Last week I stood in the old Willow Grove food court with my phone recording the echo from a dropped soda can and realized that the 45-foot ceiling and empty tile floor acted like a giant reverb chamber, so I pulled out my bass and played a low E just to hear it ring for 4 seconds, has anyone else tested sound in a dead mall like that?

My buddy Mike did this exact thing at the old Exton Square before they tore it down. He brought his acoustic guitar and just strummed an open G chord near the fountain pit on the lower level. @nancyd85 you're right about the chills, cause he said the sound bounced off those glass railings and came back like three separate waves, almost like the building was playing along with him. He recorded it and played it for me later, and you could hear this weird metallic shimmer on top of the decay that his cheap guitar definitely didn't make on its own. Made me wish I'd gone with him, but I was too busy being skeptical about the whole mall ghost thing back then.
