Guy in the mall food court said never go past the second floor, and he was dead right
He told me that at the old Oxford Valley Mall last spring, that the best stuff is always on the lower levels because everyone hits the top floors first looking for the big anchor stores, and after poking around maybe 30 dead malls I have to say the man knew what he was talking about, so what is the deal with that, is it just laziness or do people really think the good junk is up top?
idk man, I've been to probably 40 dead malls and the top floor thing has never been true for me. Like at Century III outside Pittsburgh, the whole second level was picked clean but I found sealed Atari games in a first floor closet near the old KB Toys. Same deal at Rolling Acres, ground level had all the good stuff, upper level was just water damage and empty shelves. Maybe it's just me but the second floor is usually where the roof leaks, so anything good up there is already ruined. The food court guy might've just gotten lucky at one mall.
