Found a weird old food court fountain at Granite Run Mall last weekend

The tile work had little animals painted on it like frogs and turtles, but the water was completely drained and there was a shopping cart tipped over inside it, made me wonder how long that cart had been sitting there and if anyone else has seen random stuff in their local mall fountains?

Granite Run Mall actually closed back in 2017, so that cart has been in there a solid five years or more by now.

Hang on though, that cart could have been there way less than five years. Malls don't just instantly lock the doors when they close. There's usually a process where the property management is still around for months doing inspections and security patrols. That building sat empty for a while before they started tearing it down, so a maintenance guy or a night guard could have just... thrown it in there by accident in 2018 or even 2019. Plus those old fountains get turned off when the plumbing starts leaking, not when the mall closes. You're assuming the timeline lines up perfectly but real life doesn't work that clean.
