inWarning: I stopped hand-fitting bolts on most factory rifles
Heard a gunsmith on a podcast say that hand-fitting bolts is often overkill for factory guns. He pointed out that machines now make parts with tighter tolerances. This matches your experience with the Savage 110. Skipping that step probably saves everyone time and money. Do you find that older rifles needed more tweaking than new ones?

inUpdate: My design teacher called my inspo from public transit maps 'uninspired' but I disagree.
Look, your teacher is dead wrong on this one. As a guy who puts up fences all day, I see clean design in the simple lines of a good cedar panel. Transit maps are brilliant for that exact reason. They take a huge messy system and make it easy to get. Borrowing that idea isn't copying, it's smart. Hell, I straight up use metro map layouts sometimes to plan out fence lines for big properties. Good design hides in plain sight, and people miss it because they think it has to be fancy.

inThat time a curious octopus delayed our weld inspection by an hour
Wild how smart those guys are. I saw a documentary where an octopus in a lab kept unscrewing jars from the inside to get food. They're problem solvers. Your story about it fiddling with tools totally tracks. Makes sense it would see your gear as a puzzle to figure out.

inVent: Our book club's messy debate on plot holes really opened my eyes.
Prefer to just let plot holes go most of the time... like in my work, if you stare at any finished project too hard you'll only see the tiny flaws. Arguing over every little gap sucks the fun right out of the story for me.

inI almost missed my renewal because of a glitchy website
That sounds really annoying, dealing with a frozen website like that. These online systems should work better, especially for important things like renewals. Why do we always have to plan for tech failures?
