We were finishing up a boiler install at a plant. During the last walkthrough, my foreman saw a small issue in a seam weld. He had me grind it out and redo it right then. That extra hour of work probably stopped a shutdown later. It was a good reminder to never rush the final checks. What's your best story about a last-minute fix that paid off?
