My boss's one comment about my meeting notes changed my whole system
Last Tuesday my manager glanced at my Goodnotes page for our weekly sync and said, "You write down every word, but I still can't find the action items." That stung because I thought being thorough was enough. I switched from a straight chronological log to a two column layout: left side for discussion points, right side for tasks with checkboxes. Now I open each project with a linked note and tag who owns what. Has anyone else had to rebuild their template after someone called out their weak spot? I'm curious what your fix looked like.

Honestly, that stung when I read it, but tbh I think your boss was too nice. You had all the words and zero structure, which is basically a wall of text. My fix was the opposite of yours, I stopped taking notes during the meeting almost entirely. Now I just jot down three things, what got decided, who does it, and when it's due, then I type them out right after while it's fresh. The discussion points are gone, and nobody misses them. If someone wants the back and forth, they can ask, but nobody ever does. You rebuilt your whole system to hold more stuff, mine got better because I cut it down to the bare minimum.
