Update: Our virtual rock show-and-tell turned into a comedy show
My company tried a geology themed team builder over video call last month. Everyone had to find a rock near their home and talk about it. I grabbed a smooth stone from my driveway, thinking it was no big deal. Then my coworker Linda held up a painted garden decoration, insisting it was a metamorphic masterpiece. Our boss, who knows nothing about rocks, nodded along and called everything 'quartz'. It got wild when someone's kid brought in a Lego brick and said it was a new mineral. We were all cracking up while trying to keep straight faces for the camera. The whole thing was so silly that we forgot about work stress for a bit.

Wow, your boss really called a Lego brick quartz, @anthony618?

That story just kept getting better with each rock. Your boss naming everything quartz is the kind of chaos I live for. Can you imagine a real geologist watching that call? They would either be so mad or absolutely love the Lego mineral discovery. Honestly, those weird meetings are sometimes the only thing that makes the work day feel human.
