Why flower farm ethics matter more than I thought

I saw a report on worker conditions in some regions. It's why I now partner with farms that treat people right.

You called it virtue signaling but it's really just basic cause and effect. The bad conditions you mentioned are happening to real people, so buying from better farms directly changes that.

But it's not a weird hill if you're the one living on it.

Gotta be honest, it feels like a stretch to get worked up over flowers. Like yeah, bad conditions are bad, but is it really that big of a deal compared to other stuff? Maybe it's just me but focusing on this feels like picking a weird hill to die on. Idk, sometimes these ethics talks just seem like a way for people to feel better without doing much. The whole thing kinda comes off as virtue signaling more than anything.
