I used to think flower foam was a must-have for every arrangement
A bride last spring wanted a 'green' wedding and asked me to skip the foam for her centerpieces, which honestly worried me at first. I ended up using chicken wire and water tubes for the 15 tables, and you know what? The flowers drank way more water and looked fresh for two full days longer than usual. It took a bit more time to set up, but seeing the difference changed my mind completely. Has anyone else switched methods and been surprised by the results?

So the secret to keeping flowers alive was just... giving them actual water. Who would have guessed? I love when the old school way turns out to be the better way, even if it means wrestling with chicken wire for an afternoon. Sounds like that bride was onto something, even if it gave you a panic attack at first. Good on you for trying it and proving the fancy foam isn't always the answer.

Remember when @the_jake tried to grow tomatoes with just tech and no water?
