Spackle vs. caulk for baseboard gaps, I learned the hard way
Tried to fill a 4-foot gap along my baseboard in Denver with spackle because I was too lazy to drive to Home Depot. It cracked into crumbs within 48 hours and now I have a weird dusty line under the trim. Caulk took 15 minutes and looks perfect, even after the heater kicked on. Anyone else mix up those two and regret it instantly?

Spackle crumbled on me the same way once, and the dog ate the crumbs before I could sweep them up. Now I keep a tube of caulk in the junk drawer like a normal human who's learned from his mistakes.

My buddy did the same thing with caulk but mixed up the tube with his toothpaste.
