PSA: I got stuck for a week trying to make a specific pleat design work on a skirt.
I was designing a skirt with these really sharp, geometric box pleats that were supposed to lay perfectly flat. The muslin looked great, but when I cut into the final wool fabric, the pleats just would not hold their shape and kept springing open. I tried everything from different interfacings to hand-basting each fold. It took me a solid 7 days of trial and error before I figured out the issue was the fabric's natural stretch and that I needed to cut each pleat piece on the bias. Has anyone else had a nightmare with a simple pleat design?

That sounds like a total nightmare, but good on you for sticking with it. Wool can be so tricky with its hidden stretch. I've had similar fights with pleats in linen where they just refuse to stay crisp. Your solution to cut on the bias is really smart, and something I'll remember for next time. It's crazy how a simple design can turn into a week long puzzle because of fabric choice.
