Warning: Don't write off hot shoeing just because it takes more time
Many farriers today only do cold shoeing for speed. I learned with hot shoes and the fit was always spot on. Are we sacrificing horse comfort for convenience?

My buddy's mare in Colorado started going lame after a new farrier did cold shoes. She'd stumble on turns and just seemed off. They switched back to hot shoeing, and watching the farrier shape that steel to her hoof was wild. Next ride, she was moving smooth as ever, no more tripping. That perfect fit made all the difference.

My old farrier always hot fitted... the custom shape just helped them move better. It's worth the wait for their comfort.
