Was at the mall in Spokane and saw a kiosk selling $20 'facial cleansing' brushes next to Claire's.

It just made me think about how much the public's idea of skincare has shifted since I got my license in 2010. Anyone else feel like explaining proper tools is half the job now?

Does it feel like half the battle is just convincing people that a spinning brush isn't doing their pores any favors? The amount of times I've had to explain that gentle exfoliation and a clean washcloth beats those cheap vibrating things is wild. It's all about knowing what your skin actually needs, not what a shiny kiosk is selling.

And half the time those brushes just push dirt deeper in there anyway, making things worse.
