Spent 2 hours trying to fix a broken steamer then realized it just needed cleaning

I was so mad at my steamer last week. It kept sputtering and barely putting out any steam. I watched like 4 youtube videos and even took the whole thing apart thinking the heating element was shot. Turns out mineral buildup was blocking the valve inside. I soaked it in vinegar for 30 minutes and now it works like new. How often are you guys descaling your steamers? I feel dumb for not checking that first.

Wait, you mean I'm supposed to clean my appliances and not just yell at them? lol

haha the yelling method works for about a week before they start ignoring you. a little vinegar and baking soda does more than my raised voice ever did with my old fridge.
