Overheard a client say microdermabrasion 'scrubs off your soul' and now I can't stop thinking about myths we fight
I was working on this lady last week (she comes in every 6 weeks for a basic facial) and her friend was in the waiting room. The friend was talking about how she'd never get microdermabrasion because she heard it removes your protective energy layer or something like that. I wanted to laugh but she seemed dead serious. It got me thinking about all the weird myths I've run into over the years. Like the one about how retinol thins your skin (it doesn't, it just sheds the dead stuff). Or how people think SPF 100 is a magic shield. What's the craziest thing a client has told you they believed about a treatment? I need to know I'm not the only one hearing this stuff.

The SPF thing gets me too - people think SPF 50 blocks way more than SPF 30, but it's only like 1% more coverage or something. Retinol thinning the skin is a classic, I hear that one all the time.

See this with so many health myths honestly... people just love oversimplifying things.
