Had a client in my home studio yesterday who had a really bad reaction to a glycolic peel

I was doing a 40% glycolic peel on a regular client, and about 5 minutes in, her skin started getting super red and blotchy in a way I hadn't seen before. I stopped right away, used a cool compress and a calming serum with centella asiatica, and it settled down after about 20 minutes. Has anyone else in the Denver area had a client react like that to a peel they'd used before without issues?

Oh man, that sounds scary! I had something similar happen to me years ago with a client who was using a retinol product at home that she didn't tell me about. Her face turned bright red like a tomato and got all bumpy. I just used some cold water and aloe vera gel from my fridge and it calmed down after a while. Now I always ask about every single product they use at home even the ones they think don't matter. That centella stuff you used sounds smart though I might have to grab some of that.

That "bright red like a tomato" reaction is so stressful to see.
