A senior drafter told me my detail callouts were a mess and he was right
I was working on a big set of shop drawings for a steel fabricator, feeling pretty good about it. Then a guy with 30 years in the trade looked at my sheet and said, 'Kid, I need a magnifying glass and a map to find your section cuts. This isn't a treasure hunt.' He pointed out how I was jumping all over the place with my detail markers, making the lead guy on the floor waste time just looking for the right view. I completely changed my system after that. Now I group all related details in one corner of the sheet, use a clear grid reference, and make sure every callout arrow points directly to the spot. It added maybe 20 minutes to my setup time per sheet, but it saves hours for the people actually building the thing. Has anyone else had a simple layout critique that totally changed how you organize a drawing?

Sounds like he gave you a map to find your own mess.
