Serious question, why are new guys never taught to clear air from the fuel lines?

I had to show three different apprentices this month how to do it after a simple filter swap.

It feels like a lot of practical hands-on knowledge just gets lost between generations now. The old guys who knew all the tricks retire, and the stuff that never made it into the manual just vanishes. You see it everywhere, not just in trades. Like basic repair skills or even knowing how to properly sharpen a knife just aren't passed down like they used to be.
