Why does nobody talk about mall parking garages? Hit 30 empty lots since March and the garages tell the story better
I started keeping a list of dead malls back in March and I just counted it out last night, 30 empty parking lots and about half of them had garages still open to the public. The weird part is the garages are better time capsules than the mall itself. One in Akron still had a sign taped up saying level 3 was closed for repaving in 2009, and the stairwell smelled like a wet basement. Has anyone else poked around the garages at these places, and how do you even find out if the lights are still on before you drive out there?
